Lancaster wins third straight AA sectional title, CSP wins first in Class D

The Lancaster Legends are still the kings of Class AA, winning a third straight sectional championship with a 17-6 win over Bennett on Friday.

Lancaster advances to the Far West Regionals next weekend, which will be played in Western New York at Clarence High School at 3:15 p.m.

Djae Perry opened the scoring and gave Bennett and early 6-0 lead with a 90-yard touchdown.

The Legends answered a few minutes later with Tim Gardner running in from two yards out to put Lancaster out front.

After a field goal from Clark Whiteside to make it a 10-6 game, Gianluca Fulciniti connected with Brian Martin in the endzone with five seconds remaining in the half to give Lancaster a 17-6 lead.


Cheektowaga scored twice in the fourth quarterback to rally past Pioneer and avenge an early regular season loss with a 14-7 win in the Class B Section VI Championship on Friday.

Warriors quarterback KeShone Beal ran in for two touchdowns in the final quarter to propel the school to the Far West Regionals.  They’ll play next Saturday at 3:15 p.m. at Clarence High School.


Clymer-Sherman-Panama made history on Friday, winning their first Section VI Championship with a 35-7 victory over Maple Grove in the Class D title game.

CSP advances to the Far West Regionals on Saturday and will play at 6:30 p.m.
