Nick Perkins and CJ Massinburg each scored 20 points to help the 14th ranked UB Men’s Basketball team rally past Kent State for an 88-79 win.

Davonta Jordan and Dontay Caruthers each added 12 points in the victory.

With the win UB improves to 18-2 overall and 6-1 in Mid-American Conference Play. They’ll find out where they land in the AP Top Poll on Monday.

The Bulls, who were upset by Northern Illionois earlier in the week and looking to avoid a second straight loss, trailed by as many as 13 in the first half before Perkins’ layup pulled them within 44-43 at the half.

UB would carry that momentum into the second half and take their first lead courtesy of a Jordan steal and layup to give them a 45-44 advantage.

Perkins added another bucket, while Massinburg dropped in one as well as Buffalo opened up a 49-44 lead.

The Bulls and Golden Flashes would continue to exchange baskets and the lead until the final few minutes, when Buffalo flexed it’s defensive muscles to pull away using a trio of steal to help power a 13-4 run.
