The Sabres playoff hopes took another huge hit in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

The Flyers jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first period and never trailed on their way to a 5-2 win.

With the loss the Sabres fall behind the Flyers in the standings and are now 8 points out of the final Wild Card spot.

Jack Eichel continues to be one of the few bright spots in a season gone dark. The Sabres captain picked up his 22nd goal of the season. Casey Mittelstadt scored the Sabres other goal.

Buffalo has just one win in their last 7 games.

The Sabres host the Penguins on Friday.
