Whatever the asking is for Jeff Skinner, the number is surly going to rise after the winger’s late game heroics against the Canadiens Friday night at KeyBank Center.

Trailing 2-1 in the third, Skinner tied the game to force overtime and then netted the game winner in the extra session to lift the Sabres to a 3-2 win, their eighth straight.

It’s the team’s longest winning streak since they opened the 2006-2007 season winning the first 10 games of the season.

Casey Mittelstadt opened the scoring, jamming home a rebound midway through the first period to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead.

The Habs would answer in the final minutes of second courtesy of Brendan Gallagher and took that momentum into the third.

Andrew Shaw netted the game winner with 12 minutes to play, finding the back of the cage four seconds into a power play.

Buffalo will go for a ninth straight victory Saturday when they travel to Detroit.
