Tyree Jackson & Josh Allen share unique bond

Standing at 6-foot 7-inches, there’s no doubt Tyree Jackson stands out. Much like Josh Allen a year, there’s a buzz around him at the NFL combine, especially with his size, arm strength and athleticism.

To help prepare for the Combine and NFL, he’s been training with Allen in California.  And, the best piece of advice Jackson’s received from the Bills QB?

“Just be yourself throughout the process. Be who you are and go out there and have fun,” Jackson said of the advice passed down from Allen. “We’re throwing the ball around. It’s what we have been doing since we were just little kids so go out and do that.”

The two quarterbacks also share a coach in Jordan Palmer, who had a very brief stint with Buffalo a few years ago — a welcome mentor for Jackson.

“For me, I’m excited. My best ball is ahead. I’ve gotten to this point without a quarterback coach and now I have someone with Jordan Palmer to help me with my mechanics, my lower body mechanics and helped me improve,” he said.  “I’ve already seen a lot of progress in six weeks.”

The UB standout has all measurables teams covet at the quarterback position but is still considered by many to be a “raw prospect” — a label he’s not worried about moving forward.

“I don’t feed into that,” he said. “I just kind of focus on my process of getting better each day.”

Jackson will throw infront of all 32 NFL teams on Saturday at the NFL Combine.
