BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - For the third time in program history, the University at Buffalo football team will be playing in a bowl game.
The Bulls (10-3) will take on Troy (9-3) in the Dollar General Bowl on December 22, the school announced on Sunday.
Buffalo is 0-2 all-time in bowl games with postseason appearances in 2008 and 2013.
UB put together a historic season, winning 10 games for the first time in program history to advance to the Mid-American Conference Championship. However, after taking a 29-10 lead in the third quarter, the Bulls dropped a 30-29 heartbreaker to Northern Illinois and were denied their first conference title since 2008.
