Buffalo, N.Y. (WIVB) - In a battle of the undefeateds across the pond, the University at Buffalo Men's Basketball team stayed perfect with a 85-81 win over San Francisco to win the Belfast Hall of Fame Classic.
It was a back and forth first half, but the Bulls would head into the break with a 41-35 lead. San Francisco came back in the second half when they tied the game at 53 with 11:23 to play. The Bulls would take a 71-63 lead with minutes to play. Both teams would continue to keep it close, and the Bulls would take a 78-71 lead with 1:40 to play. San Francisco would score five straight and make it a two point game.
C.J. Massinburg would hit five of his six free throws in the final minutes to put the game away for the Bulls.
Nick Perkins led all scorers with 22 points off the bench. He also finished the day with five rebounds, one assist and two blocks. He was named the tournament's MVP for his performance.
Jeremy Harris chipped in 15 points and eight rebounds for UB. Massinburg also added 15 points.
#21 ranked Buffalo moved to 7-0 on the year. They return to Alumni Arena Wednesday to host Le Moyne.
