UB Bulls

University at Buffalo star guard Cierra Dillard made more history on Tuesday, becoming the first player in UB basketball history to be drafted.

The Rochester native was selected 20th overall in the second round by the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Draft.

Dillard wrapped up her career having led the Bulls to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament, which included a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2018.  This season, Dillard finished second in the nation averaging 25.2 points per game.

The Bulls won the Mid-American Conference tournament for the second time in four years and advanced to the second round of this year’s NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 2 seed UCONN.

In her final season in the Blue & White, Dillard set several single season program records including points scored with 856.  She also set program marks for 3-pointer attempts and makes, having splashed home 105 of her 308 shots from beyond the arc.
