Dave Greber joined the News 4 team in March 2015 as a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor.
Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Dave began his journalism career as the news editor of the former High Street Journal, a weekly college newspaper at his alma mater Miami University in Oxford, where he graduated with a major in Journalism and a minor in Black World Studies.
Dave believes good journalists seek the truth and are capable of reporting the who, what, when, where, why and how. The best, however, encapsulate something more, something that wins over pessimism and monotony every time. The best have passion. Since the beginning of his career, Dave has been passionate about providing journalism that goes the extra step for the people and communities he covers.
Dave continued his print career in southwest Ohio, covering several communities as a news, business and education reporter. In 2005, he was named Weekly Journalist of the Year in a nationwide competition, sponsored by Suburban Newspapers of America, an organization that would later play an important role in his career.
Having won and been nominated for several statewide awards for coverage of some of southwest Ohio’s biggest events, Dave was tapped as a multimedia journalist in 2007, trading in the pen and paper for still and video cameras. He spent the next year perfecting his craft behind the lens, traveling to Pasadena, Ca., Williamsport, Pa., Sarasota, Fla., and several other places covering local angles on a national scale.
In 2008, with the guidance of his former editor, Dave won a national multimedia competition sponsored by SNA and Poynter to study new media in Scandinavia.
Dave began his foray into television as the on-air personality in a media partnership that existed between his former employer, Cox Ohio Publishing, and the Cincinnati CBS affiliate, WKRC.
Prior to WIVB/WNLO, Dave spent four years as the evening anchor at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, N.Y., anchoring the 5, 5:30, 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts.
Dave is excited to be featuring and reporting the stories of people and events in WNY, and is especially excited to be a part of the News 4 team. Find him on Twitter here.
Dave married his college sweetheart, Sarah. They have two daughters.
