Katie Alexander

Katie Alexander joined the News 4 team as a reporter in April 2015, coming to Buffalo from Davenport, Iowa, where she had worked as a reporter, producer, and fill-in anchor at KWQC-TV 6 News since 2012.

Born and raised in Dublin, Ohio, Katie got her broadcasting start in elementary school as an anchor and reporter for WBNS’ Kids News Network, and knew then that journalism would be her passion and future career.

Katie earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2010, before going to work for WWNY-TV in Watertown, New York, as a reporter, eventually adding weekend anchoring and a weekly Military Matters segment to her responsibilities.

While at WWNY, she was honored by the Associated Press, receiving first place for Best Spot News and a special mention for Best News Series. She also received an award for Best Investigative Story from the Syracuse Press Club.

Katie is thrilled to be back in upstate New York now and is very grateful for the opportunity to become a part of the Buffalo-area community and share your stories.
