Cold is the word for this Wednesday with daytime high temperatures only reaching freezing and a noticeable wind chill. leftover lake effect snow showers north and south of downtown Buffalo will dissipate getting into the afternoon. There is a chance of additional accumulation of 1-2" this morning mainly across Orleans County. Otherwise, some sun breaks out on a very cold Wednesday. After a quiet and cold night, clouds thicken early Thursday in advance of the next storm. Snow, possibly with mixed frozen precipitation will develop along the Pennsylvania border toward 2:00 pm, reaching the Buffalo metro during the evening commute toward 5:00 pm. Snow will continue Thursday night into Friday morning. Some sleet, freezing rain, and even some rain could mix in at times. All of the precipitation should start to taper off getting into Friday afternoon. Depending on the amount of mixed precipitation, a few inches will be possible around Buffalo northward with as much as 4-7" toward the Pennsylvania border. Aside from some afternoon snow or mixed showers Saturday, the weekend looks pretty quiet but chilly.
