With a broad area of low-pressure west of the area, rain showers will stick around in the near-term forecast. Eventually, this area of low pressure will track east, bringing back the cooler winter temperatures and some snow throughout the extended forecast.
Showers will be scattered tonight with patchy fog and a wide range of overnight low temperatures. Lows will be dropping in the upper 30’s for the metro area and northward with mid 50’s throughout the Southern Tier and northern PA. Winds will be light and variable.
Rain showers continue tomorrow with scattered showers likely and some downpours possible at times. Less coverage in the shower activity will continue Wednesday night with patchy fog developing once again. Highs will be ranging in 40’s and 50’s.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Scattered rain showers, isolated downpours, patchy drizzle, and fog. Lows: Upper 30’s to mid 50’s from north to south.
WEDNESDAY: Scattered showers continue, and isolated downpours are possible, mainly during the afternoon and evening. Patchy fog developed by evening. Highs: Mid 40’s to upper 50’s.
THURSDAY: Cloudy, cooler, and a chance of a wintry mix. Highs: Near 40.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered snow showers possibly from the metro through Southern Tier. Highs: Mid 30’s.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Highs: mid 30’s.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy. Highs: Mid 30’s.
MONDAY: Partly sunny. Highs: mid 30’s.
